不講低頻,ESL63的確係一對耐聴喇叭,佢既低音係快得黎乾淨,可惜量就相比沿用音箱既少
ESL 63 & 57..different looks (not better, just different). They both E.S.L. speakers, but they are fundamentally build differed. ESL 57 features 3 panels (1 h/f, 2 mid/bass). The 63 however, unlike the 57...use the concept of Concentric Rings (8). Different results, but both good. 63 Cost much much higher, 3 times more than 57, easy. Hard to pick if they cost the same. At different prices, choice is obvious. I am cheap, I like cheaper stuff.
ESL 63 edge the 57 in almost all areas, except mid-range (but still very good sounding). That made the ESL 57 a class by itself. Sweeter mid-range, primary on vocal reproduction. Very likely why Mark Levenson picked the 57 in his HQD system. Would be nice if someone can start a thread on the legendary HQD, the ultimate stereo system. I will tell all I know about it. Limited listening experience on that, but still a good 15, maybe 20 times.
Side story, the success of ESL shocked the hi fi world..for example BBC replaced all their moving voice coil speakers with ESL as their monitors. Including the highly successful BBC Rogers Ls3/5a. |
