老實講，我甚欣賞雷明對音樂既熱誠和認知，但對佢既聽音樂既方式有所保留，因他蓄意將音量擴大至常理以外。AR3a效率低，但又說動態對比超高，可惜AR3a既spec遍尋不獲，不知其連續承受功率如何？最高音壓如何？故此有小小疑問，他說的動態對比超高是否只在高音壓下？
如動態對比超高只出現在高音壓下的話，AR3a大食，需配較高既輸出功放，但又會否不可以太高，以免喇叭燒焦

I even got the freq response curve in my mind lol.....It takes 100 Watts RMS amps, max lol....Would blow Mr Liu's speakers X time due to his hearing problem LOL....Don't bother to listen to AR speakers at very low volume. lol..old Bedini and Threshold Amps should be fine.   動態對比超高, nah..it is ok, not the greatest.  Max sp way better the electrostatics lol...I would assume over 100 db before 喇叭燒焦

AR3a大食?  Most of speakers I loved even worst...it is never a problem.  Anyone who can stand the electrostatic speakers, would love the efficiency and max sp of AR speakers lol...

A friend of mine had the Spica TC 50 with Audio Pro SB 50 sub...when we were in college.  I take that any time over AR3a.  Even it was not that great sounding LOL..

Not at all, "old cake" class, really....it is good at the time, still good even now..but it is not godly lol....try to play some rock, metal, "modern type" of music, lol...lotta better speakers around better than AR3a, my friend...just at a cost, my 2 cents.

12吋低音單元AR-3a我本人認為設計正確,某些經典2路分音大喇叭用15吋低音單元
而分頻點仍可設計在800Hz(例如JBL Hartsfield)
如果分頻點在250Hz,那必需像AR-9/AR-9LS般用4路分音
加多個8吋中低音單元才正確(BIC Formula-7,JBL 4343/4344/4345都用8吋中低音)

Absolutely agree,  those people just didn't know what they were talking about.

以二十年前既功放推絕不難找，所以我理解雷明説的只是六零年代。以現今聴音趨向講求音色平衡、中性，AR3a看來只能留在美好回憶中

AR3a worth buying if it is cheap and good condition and for the type of music we like to listen.  It does not have much potential for further improvement.  It is a home, bookshelf speaker..perhaps one of the best for the money.  Not worth spending a lot of money to build on.  I would rather spend money to build on old Quad, and Tympani lol..Those are worth it.

No, 100hz cross-over point is wrong period !  Have you seen any 3 way 12 in that cross over at 100hz in you life time? There is no such thing.

I am sure today's top speakers are good, but don't worth the asking price.  There is no break through in speakers design since the 70s, maybe 80s.  Unlike electronics, speakers do sound bad over time and subject to wear and tears.  Amps, they can last a life time if good care. Good to buy old amps than speakers lol..

睇見你這句話諗起我姨丈，當年佢從大陸游水落香港，年青時係大陸讀電機工程，到了香港仍不忘本色，多年前家裡小至雪櫃，大至汽車都係壞既買回來，一天一天咁維修好，又比佢搞掂

Some lived in the past lol...I would too, if I didn't have 5 years of electronics in hi school and college lol..I like older pre-amp / amps since we use the same parts and same design as 30 years ago.  Not so with speakers, it gets old lol...

I am cheap, I admit that.  Money is hard earned, so better spend it wisely.  One reason why today's Hi Fi is so expensive not that they are good, but parts price is a lot higher due to lack of production.  Only Ic's are cheap, rest sky rocket prices.

40年前Sansui已經有300W X2 R.M.S.的擴音機
McIntosh 經典MC-3500也有350W的大功率
至於60年代,超過100W的擴音機亦有不少(膽或原子粒)
Sansui AU-9500(160W X2 R.M.S.)鴨記仲有音響鋪用佢試野
