A lot of auditors stop auditing and find other accounting related jobs(eg reporting, internal audit) after a few years. She should have left audit sooner.
Agreed. This is specially true for new auditors. It is extremely competitive in accounting firms, and it is very difficult to say no. While most people perceive this industry as a "safe" one (vs. investment banking, studying for doctor/lawyer exams), people need to realize that burn-out is a common problem, especially with people who stays in big accounting firms.

Yes, hk is a very competitive market. HK workers have to compete with auditors returning from u.s., Australia, Canada, Singapore, etc. in addition, market isn't that good right now, so you potentially have people working for companies returning to audit firms due to layoffs. It can be very stressful.
