Actually these rules apply to all general dinners as well. It is a waste of time and the wine try to bring a good bottle for those who don't drink wine.
Red wine is missing on the list, and I will suggest a basic AC Bordeaux. It contain mostly merlot thus easy to appreciate, and those who don't know wine won't complain the taste of a Bordeaux wine, especially if the label shows a chateau
Another option is high price California pinot noir (from Soloma/Carneros). Compare to PN from Burgundy and NZ, they are fully in body, not so acidic, and more forward flavor, thus easier for ordinary people to appreciate.
P.S. Kabinett <> 微甜. It only refer to the sweetness of the grape, and the final wine could be 微甜 as well as dry (troken). If it is dry, it word troken typically will appear on the label.
