I work hard for the money..For Hi Fi, I wouldn't want to spend money on an art piece instead of sound quality and resell value. My speakers are cheap compare to these Italian speakers, but sound better and higher resale value. In my humble opinion.

At that time, I might have still used Quad ESL as mid-range, Decca Ribbon, and Audio Pro sub (could have been hartley 18 or a pair 2 x 12 in) don't remember)....with an active cross-over. I am not even sure, that was like 20 years ago.
Spectral audio? They nice..not sure if it is mcot.. The new ones have very high slew rate/rise time, that I really like. Not sure about older ones.
How fast is your Spectral in terms of Volt/uS?
The newer Spectrals I have seen are very fast, and hi current amps. They should drive any electro-static speakers without any problem. It really depends on how old your amp is. Generally, I would assume that is ok. I used a Bedini 25/25 pure Class A amp to drive the Quad speakers, not a problem.
Depends on which 屏風..Quad is an amp killer, anywhere between 1 to 30 ohms...Yack! Most of 屏風 now a day is nothing to worry about. Some 屏風 might have problem with low impedance at round 10khz. Krell can handle that nicely. I am sure Soluution amps..hehe..but $$$$
Not really, there is nothing as best to me... but it will work fine. I am using a pair of 40 watts Class A tube mono amps to drive 屏風 and an active subwoofer, it works.
DMA 180 looks well build. Could use larger filtering caps and larger heat sinks. Low speaker Imp. and long-term operation could possibly be an issue.
How I look at hi fi systems could be different, reason behind that is I am also a tech guy..at least I was..
