One thing I sorta remember is the JBL is not as " loud" as other JBLs..It looks old, and it sounds "old"..hehe, not as bright sounding, in other words. Maybe, just maybe the sharpness was reduced hehe, when sound was traveling through the cabinet (only educational guess, haha..). Another thing I faintly remember that while the bass was impressive, seemed that it rolled off in the mid 30s cycle, was quite clean..not that is no good..how many can product 35hz..lol...The Paragon could, at least I felt that it did 30ish hz..just would be more impressive if it product a cleaner lower 30ish hz...LOL..maybe it's infinite baffle enclosure helped, because most of the ported speakers don't sound like that. Maybe due to its limited internal volume..it has to be baffled. (only guessing by looking at one of the pics) Don't think it is a ported design, even not sure. A top 15" bass driver could produce down to 28hz, at least in a lab anyway. Most JBL gave me headache if listened for hours
The Paragon was the top JBL speakers ! Space consuming and heavy !
Don't know much about Paragon...Had more chances to listens to the Olympus, cuz my hi fi teacher kinda like them lol...Don't really know JBL much anyway..never really listened to them with heart lol...My best friend and I worked for him. He started with JBL L26 and I went the opposite route.
