Read from some newspaper comments that retreat SSD means increasing supply. If retreat SSD wait until the price drop 20%, it means further increasing supply. Given property market is momentum trade by nature, what will happen ? Remember the main purpose of SSD and other property-related-measures are to protect the banking system, in turn correalates to 'stability', rather than the price. Retreat at the wrong moment means contradicting the very purpose of those measures. For sensible leaders, before those measures are applied, there should be some least painful exit criteria in place, although some pain is inevitable. History just repeats itself.
Another demonstration of the hard part in interfering free market. The US Dollar printer faces the same issue. Just that it is a different domain and on a larger scale. |
