This  is  Hong Kong  environment , no supports  from  government. no regrets , not likeother countries , they invest many resources doing  it .   hk support to  fiance ,customer service,properties , sales.  

hi ching  . mainframe may  not  stable , it  hires by  huge company  and down sizing ,but  sap  , oracle people soft may  safy. many company  employs  those  packages

mainframe 唔系個個夠料搞, 所以仲有環境.
SOFTWARE GIANTS 太多新野出, 學都學唔切.

Cloud is the trend, but Cloud = cutting cost and outsource man-power
SO, if IT, working as Vendor / distributor level is better than internal IT!!

Agree.  It's much much better than internal IT.
As a worker in software house,
I work 7 day a week,
and I have to work in my own workshop,
which costs me several thousands buck a month,
after 19:00 from Monday til Friday after office hours
and 10:00 til midnight during weekends and public holidays.

It couldn't be better.

One more thing...
Almost all coworkers refuse to be part of any stages in SDLC.
I work alone...sounds like I was Arnold in Eraser...
Requirement collection, system analysis, system design,
coding, unit tests, system tests, UAT plan with test cases,
and many more documents are coming.

I love this job, which makes me feel like I am an action hero in movies.

So my favorite lines are: "Yippee Ki Yay, ,,,,"
and "alpha mike foxtrot, ,,,,,!"
