我身邊好多朋友都被雞，全屬IT.
聽聞出年巿况不好.

可有此事

由75年Apple出pc開始，至今接近40年，
pc市場由每年高速增長到現在停滯不前，
眼前，是一個汰弱既局面。

如果做既唔系state of the art 既 IT 工作，
的確有的危機感。

聽聞近日較吃香，可能系寫app既IT人。

不過，都系等在職既師兄回答你好的。

No new idea or new breaking technology for nowadays.

Think about that, 100yrs ago only scientists can build a car.. now we don't need scientist for just building a car. We, computer/IT/semiconductor engineers will face same problem soon.

As far as I can see, people are more aware of how to operate a computer. Thus, the need of technical support has been reduced. But you will still need system administrators to monitor the servers as well as network specialists to deal with the networking issues. Application developers are never really affected by it.

Sure, desktop client support has been reduced, but there will always be stupid people who won't know how to open "My Computer"

Electronic computer was invented about 65 years ago.
Microprocessor was invented about 42 years ago.
The Internet was commercialized about 17years ago, but its R&D (formerly known as the ARPANET) dated back to some 40 years ago.
Mobile phones gained popularity about 15 years ago.
Smart phones became popular for a few years.
Right now we are moving towards Cloud computing.

Over the years, there are important inventions and breakthrough.
What is the next breakthrough? We don't know yet.
But there is one thing we can be certain is that it won't happen in HK.

Next year IT is not that well...my firm has only got a very limited amount of hiring next year...

佢做開邊個範疇架? maintenance ?

Now only a limited areas have future which are: Secuirty, Mobile , Cloud and Social Media.
If you can combine some of the above elements, your future would be unlimited.
