談談外國小說中的調酒吧！以下的資料，很多是書上看回來的……

偵探女王阿嘉莎．克莉絲蒂最著名的角色比利時偵探白羅，時常在餐後喝 Creme de Cacao 谷古或巧克力甜酒。她的小說【破鏡謀殺案】中，毒藥是下在 Daiquiri 黛克瑞 (白蘭姆酒 45 ml，萊姆汁 15 ml，砂糖 1 匙，搖勻) 裡的。

【麥田捕手】的主角也愛 Daiquiri，不過是 frozen style 的。

"I suppose it's a bit too early for gimlet." 是雷蒙德．錢德勒的【漫長的告別】Raymond Chandler’s The Long Goodbye中的名句，其中 Gimlet 琴蕾 (或直譯作錐子) 是調酒。小說亦提到它的原始配方：“a real gimlet is half gin and half Rose’s lime juice and nothing else” 。

This bit is from James Bond, in "Diamonds are forever", when the assassin, ...

Unless the wine language back in those days (1971) are very difference, otherwise the assassin is very unprofessional.  Even today, many people in HK know claret refers to Bordeaux red, not to mention someone from Europe.  It is almost an everyday English word in UK.  Isn't that assassin should have a life style like Mr. Bond?

It will be a better trick if Mr. Bond said "I would have expected a wine from the left bank (or Pauillac)"

Anyway, don't know if this film has any contribution in helping Mouton's promotion to first growth in 1973.

Mr. Wint was an idiot. I doubt he could tell the difference between a Bordeaux and a Chianti.
Just think of those 2 guys who attacked the Ming Pao editor and subsequently got caught; do you Honestly think they have high  IQ or they led the lifestyle of a true playboy (that they prefer their Martinis shaken not stirred)? Also think of the guy who shot the rich guy in the head in Luk Yu Teahouse; for god's sake that assassin is a big circle!!! What about those Muslim extremists who bomb themselves up and kill others at the same time-they were brain-washed and thought they would go to paradise by performing such deeds.
In reality, I reckon most (with exception of course) of the people who choose to become criminals, or act against society, are neither intelligent or brought up properly. And that is why they are sent to jail where they belong, to keep us normal beings from harm. It is only in movies or novels that glamorise and romanticise these people. This glamorisation is attractive to the unthinking youth, thus perpetuating the triads.
Reality is sad and hard; fiction is not.

Just googled this: the average IQ of Australian inmates are 70;British ones 80. People with the low I.Q. of '80 make up a majority of the prison population of America.

This I have to agree with you here.
You can google images of the former East German female secret police (the STASI), or the Israeli ones (the Mossad), and they look absolutely delicious--you wouldn't think that of the female East German swimmers or the Israeli female wrestlers.
