I am not saying you are wrong and I am right, I am just saying from what I've seen (experience) and from what I've studied (knowledge), these are how both setups (+/- and -/+) got developed and deployed.  A lot of times, not only in automobile industry, companies have to decide what may work best for the customers they are serving to.  BMW chose one way, VW and other Japanese companies chose another.  I am not going to say who's better and who's worse.  My personal preference is using backward for downshift in daily use as I drive a lot of uphill and downhill, while using the BMW regime when I am going to the course.  Again, personal preference.

Actually I believe when the E46 first came out, they have the way you like on the Steptronic.  Then some people complained.  BMW reverse the logic, and you know what, another party of people complained.  Can't please the whole world.

And I always take what's posted on the internet with a grain of salt, just like in your quoted "howstuffworks" article, did the author consider BMW and Mercedes Benz not mass-production cars?  Also, with the advance of the technology, the interface between the human action and the actual mechanical gear change completion is controlled by electronics.  The gear lever (and/or pedals behind the steering wheel) is more or less just a switch connecting to some wires.  Maybe the author is trying to create another myth.  An outdated myth, indeed

If you hate your BMW's shift pattern so much, you may consider doing a little modification, making it to change gears with the "right" pattern.  Here's a good instruction:

this is what I have been saying all along, just don't know what your problem is other than that you just like to argue or you just can't comprehend on what others are saying.  and on those two video... I told you on my reply that I do know there are sequential gearboxes out there that have the pull upshift, push downshift.  So what's your point?  Again, you just can't comprehend what people are saying.

I don't mind people being ignorant, but if they have to be on top all the time.  for you, learning how to comprehend would be a good start.  I on the other hand have most of the time take a humble approach on posting in these forums.  And no worry, I have been taking what you posted on here with a grain of salt.

Great!  As you are trying to make your point with the howstuffworks article regarding the "myth" of pulling-upshift/pushing-downshift, I posted those videos showing you some professional race drivers and engineers are buying into what you called as "myth", I guess.

To make it clear, my point is, this regime is not a myth.  Not just in my opinion, but in actual racing as well.

Don't worry, I don't expect you to comprehend what I am saying.  If stating the facts and truth are "on top all the time", then I am guilty as charged.  I appreciate your "humble approach" while calling other people names, when all they are doing is providing evidence to back up the points they made.  I could be ignorant, that's why I do research, not just reading something from howstuffworks, or Yahoo Knowledge/Answer, or 100% rely on Wikipedia.

I've done enough to back up what I said; I don't have the intention to show other people's contradictory in their posts.  I will refrain from responding to your reply from now on, because it's not going to turn into a nice knowledge transfer discussion.  Have a nice day.

It is bigger than the current 3 series coupe, I would say it will be more like Audi A5 size.

The new 3 series is very expensive in hk.
Normal 320 requires HKD 41xxxx. Sport line requires hkd45xxxx.

I believe that 4 series will be started from hkd46xxxx normal version....

呢個價計左所謂o既環保稅優惠未?
不過就算未我都覺得可以接受啦。E90 320i 標價都成$396600.新款多成差不多28匹,貼得住架323i咁滯,又大架D又慳油D。
