On 8 Jan 2012, local newspapers reported that the rationale behind the photo 'ban' was not about protecting intellectual property rights of the brand (as pictures of their products were keep showing on magazines and their websites), but to prevent wealthy government officials from Mainland China from being photographed, as the brand's goods should be too expensive for their salaries as government officials, which may lead to accusation of receiving bribery by anti-corruption authorities in China. It was reported that the boutique had received complaints from these customers thus imposing such a photo 'ban'.
