Suazo Wants Benfica Stay
David Suazo wants to play a second year at SL Benfica, his father has claimed.
The Honduran striker moved to the Estádio da Luz on loan in August and is due to return to Inter Milan at the end of the season.
David Suazo has enjoyed a great time in the Portuguese capital, scoring 4 goals in 11 league games to become a favourite among fans.
Despite interest from clubs across Europe, his father, Don Nicolás, has indicated that the 29-year-old forward wants to extend the initial season-long deal.
"He is very happy," Nicolás told O JOGO. "He wants to finish the season at Benfica as a champion and he has done a lot for it.
"Then he will see whether he stays one more year. I feel he wants exactly it, he is very motivated and happy to be wearing Benfica's shirt.
"But we can't forget Inter Milan own his playing rights and, if Benfica win the league, his valuation will be higher.
"Anyway, for me, it would be good if he could stay at Benfica. We like Portugal and the family is on his side." |
