I used to pair the 五仁月餅 with Sautern especially from Barsac. A very good example is 2001 Ch. Clement, to be served at 8-10 degree C, the acidity of the wine just good enough to fuse with the sweetness of the Moon Cake, the citric favour of lemon, lime, orange peel, and apricot really enhance the characters of the NUTS from the 五仁月餅, plus the 14% alcohol of the oily Ch. Clement serves to enrich the mouth feel, and give you a very powerful and long after taste! What a wonderful experience to share with all.
However, for the Tradition 蓮蓉月餅, I still recommend to pair with a cup of strong hot Chinese Black Tea !
