I totally agree! Nowadays Mainland China is cleaner and tidier than what it was at least 15+ years ago. But the Mainland public still need further and deeper education on personal behaviors in public/private places... such as still see people everywhere litter, spit, pee, shit, smoking, talking loudly, and not obeying to traffic regulations.

My memories of Mainland in the 90s were most people traveling by bicycles in a huge pack... while recent decade, my memory of the bicycles have been replaced by cars of all grades, such as many high end luxury cars, middle class mainstream cars, and a bunch of cheap ass Chinese branded cars.

Its true but China has too many people, especially village people that is not easy to improve.
