Lafite is the 2nd least favourite wine of the top 5, for me (Margaux wins the title of my least fav).
I don' t quite understand why in this article described Lafite as a powerful wine, as to my palate it is quite feminine, as it simply tastes harsh (distinguish this from powerful) in its youth and only softens out its tannin to attain a velvetiness and caressing texture with extended bottle age.
Lately I have drunk a few bottles of 78 and this to me now is at its apogee. 82 and 85 were also good a few years back, but I have not had them lately. Any from the 90s are simply not ready.
