suggest you go for CCSP - Certified Cloud Security Professional which is only 3hr exam compared to CISSP's 6hr one which is more board. CCSP tips to the market of cloud computing as almost every solutions need Cloud elements and customers always asking security questions so getting a CCSP is a good starting point.

Technical support probably not a good place to start. Try to start with a general software engineer la.

Certificates can get help you start. You need to build real experience. Attend some conferences and watch videos online can help you. Try to go outside Hong Kong. Black Hat has a conference in Singapore in March / April.

UNIX is just an OS,  and , a UNIX system, just like a Windows System, covers a lot of different fields.
KERNEL, WM, WEBSERVERS, DB SERVERS, DNS, mail servers, etc. , each with its own specialty.

Programming skills refer to something like  C, C+,  Pearl Scripts ( which you would  already be familiar with ) , Ruby, etc.  Or, could be some high level programming stuff like  JAVA,  SQL,  HTML5. Of course if you are soecialized in Unix kernel, you would have acquired much programming skill in C.

Btw, I know someone who graduated from Imperial College,  got a job  in a fund company. Job is mainly writing Macros for Excels connecting to some bank database via ODBC. Does that count as programming skill? Yes, it certainly does.

The point is, even programming skills are very diversified.
