I use P mode a lot, it works most of the time.
Sometimes A mode when I really want to control depth of views.
Rarely S mode unless I shoot 300mm and want at least 1/320s and above.
M mode - when I shoot fireworks and had to use B time exposure. For backlight, I rather use the EV adjustment which can do the same thing.
Another adjustment that should learn is the flash output +/- adjustment. When I use that to fill light (less shadow on face) shooting outdoor, I usually reduce the flash output by 2/3 and it looks more natural.
You also should learn choosing the ISO right for the environment. It makes a big difference for indoor flash shooting, for example. |
