Jerry ching has all the right info above!
If it's your first time, try not to go there by yourself. However, if you really want to experience, here are additional tips:
1. Sitting by the main stage, if you don't like the girl, avoid eye contact. Then, she would come and dance in front of you and you won't need to tip her.
2. If the dancer performs in front of you for 1-2 minutes and you like what you see, tip her $1-2. You can leave the dollar bills on her or in her thong strap.
3. No touching the girl when the dancer is on stage.
4. You could ask just for a lap dance without going to private room, but you don't get much more out in public, especially you are already sitting by the stage.
5. For VIP/Private dance, don't start right away. Wait for the current song to end and have her perform when the new song starts. Make sure to keep track how many songs have gone by and stop her when you don't want any more; otherwise, she may overcharge you and keep on dancing.
6. In VIP/Private booth, you can try to touch her (definitely not her private part), although not allowed in NYC. If she tells you "no", then make sure you stop.
Strip club isn't fun because it could be costly and you don't get anything out of it. Some cities, like Miami or Montreal Canada, have "Full Contact" strip clubs at $10/dance, meaning you can touch everywhere, except one part.
It is a must to experience in life, but most of us rather go other real-fun places! Enjoy!
