Target vs Commission Plan

Target gone up while commission being cut. This is what happens every year. Take an example, basic salary $15K. Target commission $10K (provided you can achieve all targets set by the company). However, it is very difficult to achieve all the targets (you may achieve some, but NOT all). Then your commission will be 7K or 8K making your income at about 23K. Then next year, target gone up by 10%, so your achievement ratio will fall to 50%. Commission dropped to 5K max. It happens every year in all IT companies.

On target earning is a set up, unless your base is 75% or above of OTE.

Just talked to a friend 2 days ago and learned that their revenue recorded negative growth in 2014. The CEO set a target to grow double in 3 years in 2012. Now 3 years gone, revenue stayed at 2012's level while margin dropped by 25%. 28 branches 3 years ago and now got 18 only. IT industry - sunset industry.
