It is just for those ppl who are either:

1. Too hungry to "show off" to ppl that they have such an expensive phone, a.k.a. conspicuous consumption
OR
2. They have too much money to spend

The new Nokia 8800 Gold Arte (over HK$50K each) is the new IT phone for them in 2009..
