Ceramic drivers are nothing new. They were relatively inexpensive and maybe advertising effects made them costly... It has not been widely used, perhaps due to it's imperfection out weights it's positive stats. How audiophiles rate products is quite subjective (hope not ad. influenced), that I understand and I respect. However, some of us are affected by ads rather than their ears/knowledge. These speakers certainly sound good, but they are just a pair of conventional speakers, very basic design. They are considered cheap because they compared them Vs. speakers that cost over 3X higher. Worth $7,500 USD?...Ha ha ha... Give ya an example, the cheapest Maggie or Martin Logan with a decent sub would simply blow them away, not even in the same class. Cost?....less than half of the price..
