My first hifi setup

Being a newbie in hifi and in society (earning moneywise)
我的首套 cheap 音響组合:
amp : luxman integrated amp 20W/ch (this is not the exact image but similar)


speakers : spectral (山寨货 , 爱群)
no image retrieved

turntable : dual 701 direct drive with shure V15 III


tape recorder : Technic 671

Not a cheap system at all back in the 70s other than more power needed..Any additional info on Luxman?

It was the lowest model from lux
Looked 80% like the image.
Nothing more I can remember.

Turntable you had was a good one, must cost a lot..I started with the 704..
I say nice system for a newbie back then. Check out my first system:

Your setup was heavier than mine :
75 watt receiver (mine 20watt)
Pioneer speaker (mine locally made - radio people)
dual 704 turntable
nakamichi tape recorder (nakamichi produces very hi class recorders)
every item was more expensive than mine!

O, well, I saved for 3 years..I got the system when I was 16..maybe 17..  Was a newspaper boy got up 4:30 in the morning...3 years..hehe..

speakers - infinity monitor junior (and then change to RS series - 3 way with emit tweeter)

quatre (gain cell) power amp

db (仔) system preamp small black box + power supply

sony 301 tape recorder


(given up 黑膠 already)

I had the DB system too . Quite OK ! The Shure V15 III was top class at that time. My first system got the Shure M3 D only !

Different system at different time.  Most Dual top model turntables came with V15 III.

Hmmm...interesting from 200 watt to 22 watt tube amp.   O, well...I am using a pair of 40 watts tube class A mono amps myself   , but also got a pair of 150 wpc class A/B solid state mono amps though.  Used to run electronic cross-over.

After switched to tube amps for some time I feel that tube amps '性價比' is higher than solid state amps.
However I don't quite realize how a  22 watts tube amp can drive speakers as powerful as a 200 watts solid state amp.
