That was mint, like new with new tubes plus recap and other goodies.  Yes, that was expensive for a 30 watts.

O, well...I found some new SQ-38U for about $4,000 USD...

One I said 4,600 USD was the SQ 38..my mistake.... ...too many SQ 38XX..LoL...

Really Lomei hing? haha...  It is only a 30 watts of power based on old designs..How good can it be?  So true that some of the audiophiles just can't stand Japanese sound.  I personally wouldn't consider most of the Japanese gears world class regardless it's cost.
