A good 2.1 system should have no problem with voice reproduction. I would suggest you to listen to it and find out what matches the best with you existing speakers. I can't tell you from my previous experience, sorry..reason why is I've never used sub-woofers this small..The smallest sub I used is Audio-Pro.

BTW, sound quality is not much is an issue at extreme low frequencies for a typical sub and it is non-directional (depends on cross-over freq), even Class D build-in amp is fine, cheaper.
Cool..love to see that and I am happy to have a chance to learn.. Years ago, AV sounded bad to my ears. It has been improving so fast, good to know more about it. Nevertheless, it is no hi fi quality, still a long way to go.
