yes, tax heaven, providing that you have your own house.
Typically, a young couple pay 50% of their income for house loan.
House cost in HK is a kind of invisible tax, a very heavy tax!

HK doesn't have to have high cost housing.  Maybe the gov't and land developers responsibility.  Guess they made a mess..

德國未統一前基本上每年都會去一次做展覽會，當時仲係用緊德國馬克， 大概係DM1.00 = HK$3.50 左右，係80年代的對換率。而記得當時係街邊食隻熱狗都要DM3.00，食個飯盒大概DM10-12，食一餐中菜飯，每人都要DM20-30.00。相對當時香港生活消費水平，係高好多！當地的士起錶約DM3.40，但係跳錶次數差不多你心跳一下，佢就跳一下，短程一般都要DM10-20，所以當地人一般都好少搭。

例如去漢堡飽店, 6.5 - 8.5 歐元, 8 ...

香港物價唔算貴,但近年升幅惊人, 尤其食物.
從前幾年的10多20圓早餐,到現在過30元

因為香港食品大部分依賴大陸输入, 就快連東江水都要加價

BTW : 依家興樓上鋪, 我係呢間樓上鋪食早餐, 仲可以 21 元埋單, 仲要係凍飲

Woah !  Lomei hing, that was what I paid in HK when I was working there in the 90s.  We don't have $3 breakfast here for years lol..2 bucks for cold drink, 4 for ham/egg mac plus tax and tip..lol..8 bucks for something like this.. $60 HKD..ouch !

Some place in Chinatown SF, maybe LA.  I suppose, definitely not an American restaurant.  Well, they don't serve cold milk tea and ham/egg mac anyway..  Eating in a decent American restaurant is quite expensive.  Say Mama's at Washington Sq, S.F. probably charge $12 to 15 bucks for a full breakfast, plus tips and tax. I would say it is an average American breakfast place.
