need help in renaming the folder

Making an invisible folder on the Desktop
1. Right click on the Desktop and Select NEW | FOLDER
2. Right click on the FOLDER and Select CUSTOMIZE tab
3. Select CHANGE ICON and Select a BLANK ICON, and click OK twice
4. You will see just the name of the folder without any icon.
5. Right click on the name and Select RENAME

unable to use the space bar to use a blank name for the folder; did I miss something?

Running WinXP SP2 as admin
