It is without doubt that Champagne is the best of all spakling wine in the world. However, generally speaking, other sparkling wines from France, outside the Champagne region, are really quite rubbish and inferior to the ones from Spain (Cava), Italy (Franciacorta), USA or Australia.
Can anyone tell me they ever had a mind boggling Cremant de Bourgogne, or Cremant de Alsace or a Clairette de Die or Cremant de Loire?
