Have not listened to Quad electronics for decades .  The DMP/Amp are very reasonably priced.
Should use 3 pair power out put transistors for good and stable 150 watts, not one pair.  Sanken 2SA1216/2SC2922 under $10.00 USD a pair, new..

That is what you said...  Lots of analog users like me..lol...can't switch completely to digital til the day LP's booty got kicked.  Don't see AUX..turner, wheel to wheel...LP not history yet. Good phone stage is very expensive now a day.  I saw the prices of hi end phone amps...it is crazy.  Guess gonna build my own soon...if I do, I will submit a report..hehe..
