If you are not experience with manual turn-table..my suggestion is to stick with CD. A lot of trouble and tons of things to learn using fully manual, hi end turn-table. This Marantz is rather cheaply build..

Totally agree, why spend the time learning something that is fading out..

. It cost too much money for a good manual turn table now a day. Example...I saw a used tone arm alone on Ebay for $1,200 USD...and that is crazy because it is very rare.
