The fact is..Darbee don't own Altera which is the main force for lower price in the future due to competitions if it ever got popular. Altera Cyclone IV chip is also publicly available, too. Altera Cyclone IV is $6.00 USD a piece if purchased 250 units. I wouldn't be surprised if similar circuit diagrams are already published by electronics magazines in the U.S.

One LM 309 power regulator chip plus few caps and resistors, simple...and that is linear, too. Maybe they don't know what they are talking about..hehe. This is same type of regulation Cello used on the 1 Mohm line and preamp..no big deal. I designed a few of those when I was in college..
