In those years, our family had no money. No toys, no teddy bears, no clothes, parents working so no time from them. My parents didn't/couldn't spoil their children.
Whole summer holiday stayed at home, hardly go out (can't if you were a little boy <10 years old with no one taking you).
So beside playing with water in the bathroom (the skill I learnt from that earn me some good money today), I sat down and read. Anything, chinese novel, Readers' Digest... Happiness came from doing that...
Children today are over stimulated. They don't have the patience to focus for >30minutes. They do have a lot more, and can learn a lot just from internet. But indeed the simplicity are gone. |
