The Hammerhead bike navigation system is another product of a successful crowd funding program. Hammerhead is very similar to the GPS systems you use in your car, only much more simple. The two-part system consists of an actual device that is used along with an App. The device connects to your smartphone via bluetooth and uses GPS to guide you along your route as you ride. You can pre-load the route info from your smartphone to the device in case you lose cell-phone service while riding. The system uses simple light cues and signals to tell you when and where to turn. These signals can easily be seen from the corners of your eye so you never have to take your eyes off the road. The App also allows you to share your own routes with other users and vice versa.
