I always use warm water and soap. Tap water will leave mineral deposits. Second wash (rinse) use distill water, (kinda costly lol...) if I don't do cleaning in quantity. Using alochol is highly debateable, alcohol threatens the loss of the plasticizer or stabilizer. I am strongly against it, personally. After cleaning and drying, I usually apply some anti static spray which is a very thin coating that helps to reduce records wear and tear as well. (again $$$, if you have lots of albums, lol..)

Have a habit of basic cleaning before you use the record. Some use the Disc Washer kit, Stickily rubber roller before playing disc, and/or a small mechanical roller on Lp while being played. Do not attach any small brush type of stuff to the Cart/Tone-arm which would add mass. Like the old Stanton carts, that is a no, no..hehe. |
