Let me share my poor experience.
I am managing a technology mgmt dept at regional firm and all IT stuff liked Laptop, BB and iPad are all supported by HelpDisk with VIP treatment. All of personal devices are come with on-site support. However one of my friend I know for decades think I am IT guy so he keep asking my to come to his parent home for IT support when he was locked down at a country to get residence. I need to support her parents from data inputs problem with a stupid DB2 system to unable to connect to Skype to Internet router dead. Can't reject him as a life time friend and her parents. Evertime I need to rely on Google to get problem solved and lucky that I still remember the troubleshooting skill when I was still young Softwarw engineer ! |
