Bikes should always be cleaned and lubed after each ride, rain or shine. Clean means wiping down surface dirt and water should only be used for tire cleaning and not to other moving parts if possible.
Good quality bikes are usually made of aluminium alloy, stainless steel or carbon fibre, surface rust is usually a thing of the past.
If you prefer you can use compressed air to blow dry your bike after each wet ride; if rust does occur, apply a coat of WD40 or light oil to prevent it from happening again.
(Q-tips should only be reserved for butt cleaning) |
