PARIS - The thing that stood out about the Atsuro Tayama show during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013 were the well-placed embellishments on the jackets and the pants. There were also architectural themes that had a slight futuristic vibe, but one that was darker, perhaps signifying a strong, powerful new woman. A boxy collar on a jacket for instance, was sculpted with effect. One could not forget the fur and the drapier fabrics but they were mixed in with the tougher leathers and darker colors. Tayama seemed to play up the outerwear, with bigger, oversize jackets, that still had a shape and didn't just look like a piece of fabric hanging on a model. As the colors and prints got brighter, the clothes seemed to get more feminine. Atsuro Tayama Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Show
PARIS - Japanese fashion designer, Atsuro Tayama presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection during Paris Fashion Week and FashionTV was front and center to catch all the runway's biggest highlights. Layers, asymmetrical cuts, deep V-necks, black leather and lace skirts were all dispersed onto the runway. The collection was sexy, rough yet sophisticated without revealing too much skin. Models sported army-camo buckled trench coats, cargo-pocketed dresses, light silhouettes and plenty of denim solid pieces. Tie-dye prints on maxi dresses, leggings and sheer blouses appeared over and over towards the end.
