MILAN - Slick suits and even a mobster motif were the name of the game for the Italian Canali collection for Spring/Summer 2013 during Milan Men's Fashion Week. The suit was of course the highlighted item here, coming to the forefront in different refined materials, double breasted silhouettes and pin stripes. Colors included black, white, and gray. Later, pastels and neon hues came in the form of leather, sportswear and soft suiting. Umit Benan Men Spring/Summer 2013
MILAN - Umit Benan, the current designer for Trussardi, has also made a name for himself in menswear with his namesake label. He calls this one "I once loved a woman who loves menswear..." and the Spring 2013 collection at Milan Fashion Week refers to his past. Referring to the title, there's a masculine/feminine twist here and bright colors with both casual and formal styles or pieces that can be worn for either day or night. More interesting than even the clothes was the opening sequence where beds were laid out in a row and couples on them presented morning rituals including fights and ignorance. At the end,Benan himself made a statement when he came out in only his boxers.
