European car manufacturers do have this tradition except the Italian, and I'm kind of like it. I don't like the old Japanese way, no continuity at all. But Golf from V to VII......
An example may help to explain my point:
W201 C-class is my all time favour design, I think it is magnificent, then it becomes W202 which is not as good as W201. While you can easily differentiate the two generations, the continuity is very obvious because they do base on the same design language and share a lot of design details.
Golf from V to VII is like a face-lift. Having said that, it doesn't mean the design is bad, I quite like the Golf VI design actually |
