當年代嘅電影同潮流, 總唔少得講美國西部牛仔, 南北内戰時期嘅電影, 差唔多
於故事不同情節, 就用不同節奏用此樂曲作配樂。可惜今天呢類電影已經全放入
博物館嘞, 即管試吓揾番多少回憶 . . . .

一首傳统民歌, 由情歌嘅演譯而相連到另一個傳奇嘅故事:
一個名 Emily Morgan 女黑奴, 如何與1836年發生在今天美國Texas州一場革命
戰役 Battle of San Jacinto 嘅决定性?
當時美國在Sam Houston將軍统領下, 德薩斯軍隊僅用18分鐘時間,就將墨西哥
總統 Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna 所带領嘅軍隊擊敗, 被殺死或被俘虜多達
數百人, 而美國德薩斯軍人傷亡甚少。墨西哥總統被捕，即成為戰爭囚犯並要
簽訂停火協議, 而墨西哥軍隊要撤出該區域，為德薩斯共和國成立之道路。

" The Yellow Rose of Texas" 此曲傳聞中嘅女性原名字叫 Emily West 係一名
黑人與白人所生混血兒, 當時亦作有色人種均以黑奴看待, 曲名中"Yellow"即係
喑喻其膚色。另傳此女子於1835年由紐約市遷徙至德州, 年剛20歲以聘約佣工
為當地一商人 James Morgan工作, 據當時規例, 黑奴被僱或被賣後, 要跟隨
新主人之姓名, 所以改姓 Morgan。

至於點解會跟此戰役扯上關係呢? 傳説當時因墨西哥軍隊入侵, Emily 被墨西哥
總統 Santa Anna 所擄 (可能混血兒比較有吸引, 或者總統好色 )返回營地被視
作禁臠。一次當Sam Houston將軍率領軍隊突然圍摷, 墨西總統當時掛住[操]練,
就咁 [吊吊揈] 係營內被擒, 呢次啱啱用咗18分鐘就搞惦呢場戰役嘞, 呢啲全都
有文字纪録, 而對此女子為何會留在敵方營地, 自願或被擄? 衆説纷云, 記載各異,
聽吓歌回憶後生果陣時先.......

1858年, 原作者被認為 Charles H. Brown, 因字跡筆法與當年揾到唯一歌曲手稿
相同, 而被確認與原手稿筆名 J.K. 實同出一人手筆。
