the WPA is supposed to be better - since it is "newer" and "harder" to crack.

Once again, it depends on your router and your wireless card - some older wireless router and/or card does not support WPA.

You can actually get a software to do it on your PC. Some people wrote programs for this purpose. I just google and find "airsnarf", "wepwedgie"
but of coz, it is not recommended to crack password.
