Brother,

it might be more expensive (it depends how you book your trip reall), but sometimes a new place gives you new feelings and it gives me what i want other than in HK/macau, at least these apply to me, that might differs between different ppl, i guess its the choice you make which suits you best and we ourselves are most comfortable with

In a sense, you are quite correct if you mean dollar to dollar on a day trip. My last trip to BKK and Pattaya, cost me around 11K HKD for 8 days (all included, i.e. shopping for T-shirts, souvenirs), that is around 1.4K HKD per day. Under this formula, I'll rather go Thailand. So it depends on how long you gonna stay and your budget is subject to your financial situation. By all means, vacation is a cost item on the ledger for a good memory. It is also subject to each individual to spent on their own financial proficiency.

I drive, rent a car from "Rent a car Thailand", cost around 1000 baht/day including insurance (Nissan March or similiar model), pick up and return at airport, save all the trouble dealing with lousy cab drivers during your stay and provide handy transport at all times. Or you may also rent a limo (7 seater with driver) for airport transfer at around 1200 baht/one-way.
I also drive in Taiwan, Japan, Europe, North America. It's a good way to explore a foreign city!

where to find the driver with a limo at airport.  I think to hire a taxi from the new airport to Pattaya is the same amount of money.

Bangkok has holiday feel!
The Russians, Uzbeks, Laos, Vietnams and thai girls are nicer!
You can get a 4 Star for $300HKD.

But most important of al!!
...... The city is not flooded with Mainland Chinese!!!!
