Lorikeets, 吸蜜鸚鵡, is a small and very colourful parrot. It is quite common backyard visitor in where I live. However, if you ever going to Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, be sure to visit this place called Currumban Santury. Twice a day, it prepares some sweet solution and attracts the local lorikeets to feed. Those lorikeets are not kept by human, and they come purely on their own free will.

The sweet solution are put on a plate, and they come to you.

This is probably the closest encounter that you can have if you ever wish a lot of birds fly to you and eating on your plate.
I first went to that place about 30 years ago and it was offering the same experience then.
My children said when they rest on their hands they have sharp claws.
