Behind each medal, there are thousands and thousands of kids giving up their formal education, away from their childhood playground, separated from their parents, and faced daily risks from being crippled or disabled part of their body. There are numerous crippled children left behind shame from over-expectation and possibly unattended for a long period of time after a medal is won.
