I disagree with the assessment of Mao was a great person. Under Mao’s cultural revolution, millions of Chinese were displaced from their homes, thousands were killed, countless of historical sites and art objects were destroyed. A whole young generation of the 60’s was lost because Mao’s selfishness of trying to hold on to the power. Mao’s destructive cultural revolution had set China back at least 30 years. |
