冇咩可能啦 .... 你話喇 ... 美個買個老 mac 包 ... 要幾錢喇 ...
煩惱 ching, we can't compare it like this way ...because....( I can only speak from UK)
1) in UK, the min wages is 6.08GBP ( For age 21+) so...put it in HKD would be....6.08x12.3=74.7HKD...
To buy a Big Mac meal in HK would cost 3.85GBP (around 3.7-3.9-can't remember exact figure) so it would be....3.85x12.3=47.4HKD...
So in UK, if you work for 1 hour, you can buy....nearly 1.5 of Big Mac meals...OR...40mins for a big mac..
In contrast, HK, Min wage is 28KD per hour...an I rmembere a big Mac meal cost 26-28HKD....so you can only buy 1 big mac if you work for one hour...
Before I came to UK or well been living in UK for over 10 yrs now...and lots of people from HK saying UK is VERY expensive...yes, it is Expensive if you earn money from HK and then use it in UK, ie) my example of buying a Big Mac, you have to work for nearly 90mins in HK to buy a big Mac in here.
However, if you work in UK, it is actually a Cheaper cost of living in UK than HK...
And....We still haven't counted HK housing is MORE expensive than UK....( I can write this on and on....)
Off course, not everyone in HK & UK earn min wages ( but that's just a quick comparison).
P.s However...there are things in UK which is definitely MUCH MUCH more expensive than HK---vegetables & fruits and other healthy foods....
Vegetables in UK cost at least 5GBP per KG ( although the Chinese KG is different to Western KG--if i remmeber correctly, 1 chinese kg from the wet market in HK is around 700g)...and to buy Choi Sum in HK, I guess around 10HKD per 1chinese KG. and in UK it would cost........7GBP for 1 KG...yes...that's nearly 90HKD for 1KG...haha...
Sorry gone off the topic XD |
