11 years ago (8 March 2013), David Bowie released his 24th studio album “The Next Day” featuring singles “Where Are We Now?" “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)" “The Next Day" “Valentine's Day" and “Love Is Lost".
It was Bowie's first album of new material in 11 years. The album was also included in the 2014 revised edition of Robert Dimery's book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The Next Day was well received by critics as Bowie's best work in decades; it placed on several year-end lists. Many reviewers highlighted the vocal and musical performances, and made positive comparisons to his earlier works, though some felt the album lacked innovation and was overlong.
