I have to disagree with the finding from the French company. I emigranted to New York from Macau more then forty years ago, and I had been back to Macau/HK only twice. The first time was more than twenty years ago as a newly wed, I had a really great time with my wife in both Macau & HK. The most recent trip was last summer with my wife and 3 boys, we had a wonderful time at HK & Macau, but I was shocked to see so many main landers crowding the typical tourist attraction areas. Most of these main landers have no manners, they talked loud in the public places and cut you off while waiting on line (queue). My wife and my boys don't speak much Cantonese, but they had no problems what so ever in HK. We found the people under 50's in HK spoke English very well and the people were very polite and helpful. I guess these main landers must have diluted the great "things" in HK. |
