this time, every year, can see salmon run in the river, but this year, less salmon than last year, probably because there are sections of the river downstream were blocked by tree branches, and it is not easy for the fish to swim upstream!

some areas along the river have a faint hint of a smell of salted fish(dead fish decaying)

it is located in the country famous for its maple leaves(colorful leaves in the fall), and yes, all photos are taken by yours truly!

indeed, yes, the dead fish not only nourish the river, but other small animals as well, that take these dead fish as food!
went to the same place today, but no more live salmon, except a few dead bodies along the river!

agreed! this is the life cycle of salmon! but the efforts these salmon make, every year, swimming along the shallow river bank, for more than 30 kms, against the current, to their birth place to spawn for the next generation, nature is quite amazing!

if these salmon are caught, of course they can be taken. saw a couple of people trying to catch one with a fly fishing rod, but to no avail, and then they went into the river, trying to catch it by hand, but the fish was too strong, swimming away from them!
