How lucky have you been ?

C-hings, I was watching CableTV today and by chance saw Leung See-ho's show about weird tales. He said something that strikes a cord with me, and I thought I should share.  He was talking about a lot of people seeking help from a si-fu to "improve their luck".

- The si-fu said he cannot create luck, but only serves as a conduit to release the luck inside the person, the person must have luck within first.
- Leung and si-fu met and before anything else, si-fu gave him a sheet of paper saying if Leung has done any of those, if yes then the si-fu cannot help him. One of those items is a question on "have you taken the service from prostitution". Si-fu's theory is :
   - If a girl has to choose the path of prostitution, then she must already be in very bad luck
   - If you (a man) engage with this girl, then you are literally absorbing the bad luck
   - And therefore, how can you improve your luck when you yourself are full of the "qi" (of bad luck)

I am not trying to bad-mouth or kill the industry, but just from my past experience, I observed I have very tough time (or a.k.a. not as lucky) in the past few years, and I have had increased use of the service in this period of time.  Whether it is believable or not, C-hings you yourself to decide.

This is my conclusion :
- I think there is a logic in si-fu's explanation.
- I think 1-lau-1 girl (most I met has tough life) has more truth to what si-fu said than hotel girl (most I met is just wet-girl looking for quick money).
- My new year resolution = to dramatically cut down this "itchy habit", but also realizing I am a man and also it helps to relief stress, therefore
     - my goal is to limit to two times max per month
     - prefer massage over girl-girl
     - prefer hotel girl over 1-lau-1 girl

andrew, my feelings in response to what you have said:

- luck is luck, a matter of probability. Please follow your instinct and not be superstitious over some sifu's saying. I do not believe in absorbing bad luck from the girl. But, too much indulgence may cause distractions from your work and life etc. causing the so call 'bad luck'. I think your resolution of cutting down to your suggested twice a month is a very good start.

- there is no difference between hotel girl and 141 girl. Both of them do it for money for various reasons. 141 girls need just as much help as the hotel girls. 141 girls may need the money for her families, so do the hotel girls. Please treat them well, your conscience will make you feel better with luck. All the best.

According to your logic, we have to patronage those high price chicks when we seek service of prostitution?? such as models, film stars etc
